    The website of "Blühendes Österreich", a non-profit private foundation of the retail group REWE International, is easily accessible and was awarded the WACA Bronze Certificate. This is the first time that a Non-Profit-Organisation (NPO) in the sustainability sector that pursues the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has been WACA-certified.

The website of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology was retroactively optimised in terms of accessibility criteria and received the WACA Bronze Certificate. The AIT is Austria’s largest non-university research institution and the leading expert on central infrastructure issues among European institutions. It’s nice to see that research institutes also promote access to information for everyone. Due to the size and complexity of the website as well as the partly academic and international content, this was certainly not an easy task. Congratulations for this achievement!

    The web-based whistleblower platform EQS Integrity Line of the internationally EQS Group based in Germany has been awarded the WACA Silver certificate for its German and English language versions. This application is accessible to all users and is highly compliant with the WCAG 2.1-AA criteria. The platform is offered as a B2B solution and is customised for each client. WACA has tested and certified the general test version for all applications by way of example in May 2021.
    Another EQS Group's whistleblower platform was awarded in Bronze in August 2022.

    The Austrian Association in Support of the Blind and Visually Impaired is the largest self-help organisation for the visually impaired in Austria. In order to particularly address the needs of the target group, great attention was paid to compliance with the WCAG guidelines and additional operating aids were integrated when relaunching the website of the organisation as well as that of the associated senior citizens’ home "Waldpension".
    These efforts were audited and checked by independent, qualified auditors in a two-stage process. Both websites were awarded the highest WACA level in Gold and thus serve as role models for digital accessibility.

Due to the complexity of the user interface, however, it is recommended that keyboard users read the corresponding help page. Due to the improvements made during the certification process, it was possible to generally increase the quality of the Fabasoft product.
    Congratulations! This shows that software applications can and should also be designed in an accessible way.
